Applying a Labor Difficulty Factor to Assigned Features

To apply a Labor Difficulty Factor to an assigned feature

The Feature Assignment Properties dialog box lets you apply a Labor Difficulty Factor to selected features in the design to produce a more accurate cost estimate. For example, steep, rocky terrain might double the labor cost of installing a pole in this area.

In calculating costs for the feature, Bentley OpenUtilities Designer will multiply the Labor Cost value of all units assigned to the feature by the value of the Labor Difficulty Factor. For more information about this property, see Labor Difficulty Factor.

A Labor Difficulty Factor can also be applied to work locations and assigned compatible units. See Applying a Labor Difficulty Factor to Work Locations and Allocating Extra Material and Quantities to an Assigned Unit.

  1. From the list of features displayed in the Design Workspace, right-click the assigned feature that will require extra labor and select Properties from the shortcut menu to open the Feature Assignment Properties dialog box.
  2. In the Labor Difficulty Factor box, type a new value or select one from the list of available values.
  3. Click OK to save the change.
